SURFACE FINISHING

We offer the following common PVD metal coatings

PVDDescribe
TiN (Titan-Nitrid)Standard hard material with high wear resistance and a relatively high coefficient of friction, usually golden in colour, with a safe application range up to approx. 300 °C.
TiC (Titan-Carbid)Lower wear resistance than TiN, significantly lower coefficient of friction, usually anthracite in color.
TiCN (Titan-Carbonitrid)An intermediate coating material between the high wear resistance of TiN and the low friction coefficient of TiC. The relative position between TiN and TiC depends on the ratio of C and N.
TiAlN (Titan-Aluminium-Nitrid)An intermediate coating material between the high wear resistance of TiN and the low friction coefficient of TiC. The relative position between TiN and TiC depends on the ratio of C and N.
DLC (Diamond-like Carbon)An intermediate coating material between the high wear resistance of TiN and the low friction coefficient of TiC. The relative position between TiN and TiC depends on the ratio of C and N.
(PTFE) (Poly-Tetra-Fluor-Ethylen) – TeflonVery low surface tension, almost no foreign matter will adhere to the cutting edge, acid and alkali resistant; friction resistance is significantly reduced; static friction is very low, no jitter occurs during cutting, suitable for the medical industry. Low wear resistance, not suitable for contact with sodium and temperatures exceeding 250 °C.
